On Regaining Sinai through the Camp David Accords
Many people claim that the Camp David Accords between Egypt and “Israel”
brought the Sinai desert back to Egypt, which is much more than what war
against “Israel” brought back.
But those who think this way, are actually unable to see the big picture
in the Arab-Zionist struggle.
Egypt being the largest and most important Arab state, was especially
irksome to “Israel”. Thus, it was very important for “Israel’s”
survival to get Egypt out of the game: THERE’S NO SERIOUS MILITARY
ARAB OPTION AS LONG AS EGYPT IS TIED DOWN IN THE SHACKLES OF CAMP
DAVID.
According to some strategic analysts, the raid on the Iraqi nuclear
reactor and the war against Lebanon in 1982 would not have been as
feasible for "Israel” if it weren’t for the Camp David Accords.
Politically, the Zionist strategy in negotiations has been to get
each Arab state alone, and to refuse to negotiate with one united
Arab delegation. GETTING EGYPT OUT OF THE PICTURE STRENGTHENED
“ISRAEL’S’” HAND AGAINST THE PALESTINIANS AND OTHER ARABS IN
NEGOTIATIONS. Just like Oslo itself, then Wadi Arabah, strengthened
the hand of the “Israelis” against Syria and Lebanon.
Surely they gave Sinai back, but they got Egypt instead! This was not
only in relationship to the Arab-Zionist struggle by the way, but also
in the cold war against the Soviet Union, and with respect to opening
up the Egyptian economy to American and western companies in the episode
otherwise known as al-infita77.
