Bomb destroys US Humvee in al-Khalidiyah Thursday.
 
In a dispatch posted at 3:44pm Baghdad time Thursday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a US patrol in al-Khalidiyah, 80km west of Baghdad, on Thursday morning.

US air raids on Madinat as-Sadr kill six people, wound 10 more Thursday morning.
 
In a dispatch posted at 4:40pm Baghdad time Thursday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that six people were killed and 10 more wounded in two US air raids on the Madinat as-Sadr district of Baghdad Thursday morning.
 
Yaqen reported a source in the government police as saying that tow of the dead were small children.  He said that the bodies of the dead had been conveyed to the Forensic Medicine Morgue, while the injured had been admitted to hospital for treatment.
 
US announces death of American soldier in bomb attack in central Baghdad Wednesday evening.
 
In a dispatch posted at 3:15pm Baghdad time Thursday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a US military vehicle in the middle of Baghdad on Wednesday evening.  Yaqen reported a US communiqué as saying that the blast killed one American soldier.
 
Four Iraqi policemen wounded in bomb attack Thursday.
 
In a dispatch posted at 12:15pm Baghdad time midday Thursday, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a patrol of  Rescue Police on the highway near the ash-Sha‘b International Stadium in Baghdad on Thursday.
 
US admits death of soldier in northeastern Baghdad Wednesday.
 
In a dispatch posted at 11:18am Baghdad time Thursday morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that the US military had issued a statement saying that a bomb had exploded by a US military vehicle in northeastern Baghdad on Wednesday.
 
US soldier killed in bomb explosion in Salah ad-Din Province Wednesday.
 
In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 12:18pm Thursday afternoon Beijing time (8:18am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a bomb had exploded by US forces in Salah ad-Din Province on Wednesday.
 
Xinhua reported an American communiqué as saying that one US soldier was killed in the blast, which occurred in some unnamed location in Salah ad-Din Province.

Unmanned American spy plane crashes near Balad Wednesday.
 
In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 12:18pm Thursday afternoon Beijing time (8:18am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that an unmanned US spy plane had crashed in the area of Balad, 80km north of Baghdad
 
Xinhua reported a US military statement as saying that an MQ-1 pilotless drone plane coming from the Imam ‘Ali base crashed at 7:10 local time Wednesday.  The American statement said that the probable reason for the crash was mechanical failure.
 
Tikrit.
 
Police in Tikrit jail hundreds, evict over 100 families of refugees from Samarra’.
 
In a dispatch posted at 10:31am Baghdad time Thursday morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that local government authorities have expelled more than 100 families of refugees from the city of Samarra’ who had fled to Tikrit to escape the violence in their home city.

Al-Huwayjah.
 
Five members of family murdered in al-Huwayjah.
 
In a dispatch posted at 10am Baghdad time Thursday morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that armed men in unmarked cars attacked the home of the driver who works for the governor of the al-Huwayjah district, 200km north of Baghdad on Thursday morning.
 
Ninwa Province.
Al-Mawsil.
 
 Mortar shells injure 11 in southern al-Mawsil.
 
In a dispatch posted at 7:20pm Baghdad time Thursday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that 11 people were wounded when mortar shells landed to the south of the city of al-Mawsil, 250km northwest of Baghdad, on Thursday afternoon.
 
Car bombs kill four in al-Mawsil.
 
In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 12:20pm Thursday afternoon Beijing time (8:20am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that two car bombs had exploded, one after the other, in al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of Baghdad, on Wednesday evening.
 
Xinhua reported the official spokesman for the Ninwa Province operations center, Brigadier General Khalid ‘Abd as-Sattar, as saying that one car bomb that had been parked by the side of the road blew up by a patrol of Iraqi police in the as-Sa‘ah district of al-Mawsil.
 
General ‘Abd as-Sattar said that then, after a crowd had gathered, a second explosives-packed car parked nearby blew up.  The two blasts killed three policemen and one civilian and wounded 20 more people, three of them policemen.  Several local houses and shops were also damaged in the two blasts.  He said that both cars had been detonated by remote control and blamed al-Qa‘idah, known for its use of the car bomb tactic, for the attack.
