Bomb wounds official in al-Fallujah Sunday evening.
 
In a dispatch posted at 9:45pm Baghdad time Sunday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded under the car of a deputy chairman of the municipal council in the city of al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad, wounding him severely.

US troops reportedly kill Iraqi in house raid in Baghdad’s al-‘Amiriyah district Sunday morning.
 
In a dispatch posted at 8:14pm Baghdad time Sunday evening, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that US troops accompanied by Special Forces shot and killed an Iraqi by the name of Hasanayn Muhammad ‘Abd ar-Rahman ar-Rawi in front of his home near al-Munazzamah Street in the al-‘Amiriyah area of Baghdad Sunday morning.
 
Bomb wounds two Iraqi regime policemen in Baghdad midday Sunday.
 
In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 7:36pm Sunday evening Beijing time (3:36pm in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a patrol of Iraqi police in central Baghdad at midday Sunday.
 
Xinhua reported a source in the Iraqi police as saying that a bomb went off by a patrol of Iraqi regime police near the National Theater, wounding two of the patrolmen and damaging one of their vehicles.
 
US rocket misses target, wounds two American soldiers three Iraqi civilians Sunday.
 
In a dispatch posted at 11:45am Baghdad time Sunday morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that the US military had admitted that its aircraft had fired a rocket at armed men in eastern Baghdad, but that the rocket had missed them and hit a US military vehicle.
 
Yaqen reported a US communiqué as saying that American forces fired a rocket at armed men in the Baghdad al-Jadidah area near Madinat as-Sadr.  The attack was part of the US offensive against the anti-occupation Jaysh al-Mahdi militia.
 
The American statement admitted that the rocket missed its target and instead blew a US vehicle into a fireball, setting nearby houses ablaze.  The attack wounded two US troops and three civilians.  The American communiqué conveyed apologies for having wounded civilians unintentionally.

“Awakening” tribal police clash with al-Qa‘idah near Samarra’.
 
In a dispatch posted at 8:25pm Baghdad time Sunday evening, the Yaqen News Agency reported that armed battles raged between gunmen believed to belong to al-Qa‘idah and “Awakening” tribal police in the Samarra’ area, 120km north of Baghdad.
 
Yaqen reported a source in the Samarra’ police as saying that seven “Awakening” tribal policemen were killed, one of them a local tribal chief.  No information on the nature ore extent of casualties among the gunmen was available.
 
The source said that the clash occurred when “Awakening” policemen raided a stronghold of al-Qa‘idah near Samarra’.  Salah ad-Din Province is the scene of frequent clashes between the “Awakening” tribal police and the members of the al-Qa‘idah organization, particularly in the area of ath-Tharthar to the west of Samarra’, which is an area of extensive al-Qa‘idah presence.

Bomb explodes by “Awakening” patrol in Kirkuk.
 
In a dispatch posted at 7:33pm Baghdad time Sunday evening, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a patrol of “Awakening” tribal police in the ar-Rashad area of western Kirkuk.
 
Al-Huwayjah.
 
Bomb kills tribal policeman in al-Huwayjah area Sunday.
 
In a dispatch posted at 10:20am Baghdad time Sunday morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb went off by a patrol of “Awakening” tribal police in the az-Zab area near al-Huwayjah, 200km north of Baghdad, Sunday.

In a dispatch posted at 9:15pm Baghdad time Sunday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that armed men opened fire on a policeman in the az-Zanjili area of western al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of Baghdad.
 
Yaqen reported a source in the al-Mawsil police as saying that following the attack the attackers fled the scene.
 
Gunmen kill two in al-Mawsil.
 
In a dispatch posted at 9:15pm Baghdad time Sunday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that gunmen had killed two people in al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of Baghdad.
 
Yaqen reported a source in the al-Mawsil police as saying that that one of the victims was killed in the az-Zanjili area of the west of city and the other in the an-Nur neighborhood of eastern al-Mawsil.

Body guards of two Iraqi regime officials engage in gun battle near an-Najaf midday Sunday.
 
In a dispatch posted at 6:27am Baghdad time Sunday morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that an armed battle took place between guards of the motorcade of the State Minister for National Security Shirwan al-Wa’ili, and the guards of the Chief of Police of an-Najaf Province, ‘Abd al-Karim al-Miyahi at the road junction between an-Najaf and al-Kufah.
 
Yaqen reported a source in the regime as saying that five of the guards of the Chief of Police were wounded in varying degrees in the course of the battle that raged between them and the guards of al-Wa’ili at midday Sunday.
 
The source had no further details to offer as to the reason for the clash, saying only that the wounded men were taken to an-Najaf Hospital for treatment.
 
Shirwan al-Wa’ili arrived in an-Najaf as a part of an investigation into the assassination of Riyad an-Nuri, a top aide and also an in-law of Shi‘i religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr.

In a dispatch posted at 10:15pm Baghdad time Sunday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that armed men attacked a policeman in the Manawi Basha area of central al-Basrah.
