· US announces death of American soldier in Ninwa
Province on Tuesday.

· Madinat as-Sadr hospitals report two dead, 11

al-Mahdi in southern Baghdad, as American offensive
against Jaysh al-Mahdi continues and dozens of
families flee their homes.

Baghdad.

Rocket slams into Baghdad Utilities Department,
wounding five.

In a dispatch posted at pm Baghdad time Tuesday night,
the Yaqen News Agency reported that a Katyusha rocket
of unknown origins had blasted into the offices of the
Baghdad Utilities department (Amanat Baghdad).

US announces death of American soldier in Ninwa
Province on Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 7:25pm Baghdad time Tuesday
afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that the US
military announced that one of its troops had been
killed and another wounded in an attack on their
patrol somewhere in Ninwa Province, northwest of
Baghdad.

Madinat as-Sadr hospitals report two dead, 11 wounded
in last 24 hours of US offensive against impoverished
district.

In a dispatch posted at 6:30pm Baghdad time Tuesday
afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that the
Imam ‘Ali Hospital and as-Sadr Hospital in the Madinat
as-Sadr district of Baghdad had received two bodies
and admitted 11 wounded people in the previous 24
hours of the continued American offensive against the
impoverished Madinat as-Sadr district of Baghdad.

Yaqen reported a source in the al-Imam ‘Ali Hospital
as saying that his institution had received two bodies
and seven people wounded in the American offensive,
while the as-Sadr Hospital had admitted four
individuals wounded in the fighting in Madinat
as-Sadr.

For more than a month US forces have been waging an
offensive against the Jaysh al-Mahdi militia and the
Sadr Movement of which it is a part in what is widely
seen as preparation for an eventual US attack on Iran.

College building hit by rocket in Baghdad Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 7:32pm
Tuesday afternoon Beijing time (3:32pm in Baghdad),
the Xinhua News Agency reported that a Katyusha rocket
landed on the building housing the University College
of al-Mansur on al-Andalus Square in Baghdad.

Xinhua reported a source in the Iraqi government
police as saying that five people, one of them a
female student, were wounded in the unexplained
attack, which also damaged the building.

Mortar shell targets police checkpoint.

In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 7:32pm
Tuesday afternoon Beijing time (3:32pm in Baghdad),
the Xinhua News Agency reported that two mortar shell
blasted into the area near a checkpoint manned by the
Iraqi regime police in the ash-Shalijiyah area of
northern Baghdad.

Mortar shells kill three in central Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 7:32pm
Tuesday afternoon Beijing time (3:32pm in Baghdad),
the Xinhua News Agency reported that two mortar shells
of unknown origin landed on a building in the as-Sanak
district of central Baghdad at midday Tuesday.

Three dead, nine wounded in US attacks on Jaysh
al-Mahdi in southern Baghdad, as American offensive
against Jaysh al-Mahdi continues and dozens of
families flee their homes.

In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 6:31pm
Tuesday afternoon Beijing time (2:31pm in Baghdad),
the Xinhua News Agency reported that three people were
killed and nine more wounded in the continuing US
offensive against the anti-occupation Jaysh al-Mahdi
militia in southern Baghdad on Tuesday.

Xinhua reported a source in the Iraqi government
police as saying that fierce fighting broke out
between the US troops accompanied by their Iraqi
regime allies on one side and the Jaysh al-Mahdi
militia on the other side in the Abu Dushayr before
noon Tuesday.  As of the time of reporting three
people had been killed and nine more wounded in the
combat.  Several houses and have also been damaged and
personal property destroyed.

Meanwhile there was a mass evacuation of dozens of
people from the impoverished Madinat as-Sadr district
of northern Baghdad on Tuesday morning as a result of
the continuing American ground offensive and daily air
strikes against the district, a stronghold of support
for the anti-occupation Shi‘i religious leader Muqtada
as-Sadr.  The refugees from Madinat as-Sadr set up
temporary tent camps near the International ash-Sha‘b
Stadium and the Industrial Club Sports Center in
eastern Baghdad, awaiting the return of relative
security to their home area.

For more than a month US forces have been waging an
offensive against the Jaysh al-Mahdi militia and the
Sadr Movement of which it is a part in what is widely
seen as preparation for an eventual US attack on Iran.

Tikrit.

Car bomb explodes near restaurant in Tikrit.

In a dispatch posted at 6:50pm Baghdad time Tuesday
afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a car
bomb exploded in front of a restaurant in the city of
Tikrit, 180km north of Baghdad, Tuesday.

Yathrib.

Resistance group claims destruction of supply truck
and troop transport en route to US base.

In a dispatch posted at 1:15pm Baghdad time Tuesday
afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that the
Brigades of the 1920 Revolution Iraqi resistance group
announced that its fighters had set off a bomb near a
US supply convoy on its way to the al-Bakr Air Base –
a facility dubbed “Camp Anaconda” by the Americans –
in the Yathrib area, about 80km north of Baghdad.

Yaqen reported the 1920 Brigades’ communiqué as saying
that the blast disabled one supply truck, but did not
specify when the attack had taken place.

In a separate communiqué, Yaqen reported at 1:30pm,
the 1920 brigades claimed to have detonated a bomb by
a troop transport vehicle also In a dispatch posted at
pm Baghdad time Tuesday afternoon, the Yaqen News

Buhriz.

Tribal leader, members of family abducted near Buhriz.

In a dispatch posted at 5:15pm Baghdad time Tuesday
afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that armed
men kidnapped a tribal chief and three members of his
family in the al-Buhriz area, 60km northeast of
Baghdad Tuesday.

Ba‘qubah.

Ten Iraqi regime troops killed in Monday night assault
near Ba‘qubah.

In a dispatch posted at 10:06am Baghdad time Tuesday
morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that armed men
attacked an Iraqi army checkpoint near western
Ba‘quba, 65km northeast of Baghdad.

Ninwa Province.
Al-Mawsil.

Bomb wounds two in attack in northern al-Mawsil in
reported increase of al-Qa‘idah activity.

In a dispatch posted at 9:25pm Baghdad time Tuesday
night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb
exploded on the main street in the ash-Shurah district
of southern al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of Baghdad.
Yaqen reported a source in the police as saying that
two people were killed in the attack.

Bomb kills soldier in al-Mawsil Tuesday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 9:25pm Baghdad time Tuesday
afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb
exploded by a patrol of Iraqi army troops in the
at-Tanak neighborhood of western al-Mawsil on Tuesday
afternoon.  Yaqen reported a source in the police as
saying that the blast killed one soldier and wounded
two more of them.

Police officer gunned down in al-Mawsil.

In a dispatch posted at 2:30pm Baghdad time Tuesday
afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that armed
men opened fire on the private car in which an officer
in the Installation Protection police force was
traveling through the az-Zahra’ neighborhood of
al-Mawsil.

Bomb wounds policeman in eastern al-Mawsil.

In a dispatch posted at 2:30pm Baghdad time Tuesday
afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb
exploded by an Iraqi government police patrol in the
an-Nur neighborhood of eastern al-Mawsil.

Gunmen ambush police patrol in southern al-Mawsil.

In a dispatch posted at 11:29am Baghdad time Tuesday
morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that an armed
group ambushed an Iraqi government police patrol in
the southern al-Mawsil neighborhood of al-Mansur.

Two armed men killed in attack on police in al-Mawsil
Monday night.

In a dispatch posted at 11:29am Baghdad time Tuesday
morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that armed men
attacked a patrol of Iraqi government police in the
an-Nur neighborhood of eastern al-Mawsil Monday
evening.
