Bomb explodes by US patrol near Baghdad’s al-Kazimiyah Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 6:01pm Baghdad time Monday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a US patrol on a street leading to the northern Baghdad Shi‘i district of al-Kazimiyah on Monday.

Yaqen reported a source in the Iraqi Interior Ministry as saying that the bomb killed one civilian and wounded three others when it exploded by a US patrol passing through Salah ad-Din Square on a street leading to nearby al-Kazimiyah.  American forces responded to the attack by closing off the area and preventing anyone from approaching.  No information on the nature or extent of US casualties, if any, was available as of the time of reporting.

Bomb wounds judge, his wife, daughter in eastern Baghdad Monday.

In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 3:50pm Monday afternoon Beijing time (11:50am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a bomb exploded near the garage at the home of an Iraqi government judge Monday morning.

Xinhua reported a source in the Iraqi government police as saying that the blast at the home of Judge Ghanim ‘Abdallah ash-Shamari in the al-Bunuk area of eastern Baghdad, wounded the judge, his wife and daughter.  All were taken to hospital for treatment.  Judge ash-Shamari serves in the Madinat as-Sadr court in Baghdad, the impoverished district known as a stronghold of support for anti-occupation leader Muqtada as-Sadr and the target of a recent US-backed security sweep.  The source said that the explosion also damaged Judge ash-Shamari’s home.

Bomb explodes near home of judge in southeastern Baghdad Monday morning.

In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 3:46pm Monday afternoon Beijing time (11:46am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a bomb exploded in front of the house of Judge ‘Ala’ Husayn Salih in the al-Ghadir neighborhood of southeastern Baghdad on Monday morning.

Xinhua reported a source in the police as saying that the blast damaged the house but caused no deaths or injuries.

Bomb explodes near home of judge in eastern Baghdad Monday morning.

In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 3:46pm Monday afternoon Beijing time (11:46am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a bomb exploded in front of the house of Judge ‘Ali al-‘Allaf on Palestine Street near the al-Mawwal Restaurant in eastern Baghdad on Monday morning.

Xinhua reported a source in the police as saying that the explosion inflicted damage on the home but caused no casualties.

Bomb kills person in car in northern Baghdad Monday morning.

In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 3:46pm Monday afternoon Beijing time (11:46am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a private car in the al-Kasrah area of northern Baghdad on Monday morning.

Xinhua reported a sources in the police as saying that the blast killed one of the civilians who was driving the car.  The explosion also totally destroyed the vehicle.

Car bomb kills civilian in al-Mawsil Monday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 8:33pm Baghdad time Monday evening, the Yaqen News Agency reported that one person was killed and 13 more injured when a car bomb exploded in northern al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of Baghdad, on Monday afternoon.

Yaqen reported a source in the local police a saying that the car bomb exploded in the Cultural Group area in northern al-Mawsil.  The explosion occurred shortly after a police patrol had passed by the area.  None of the policemen in the patrol were injured; all the casualties being civilians.

Since 10 May the US and its Iraqi regime allies have been waging a security campaign against the al-Qa‘idah organization in al-Mawsil and surrounding Ninwa Province.

Bomb reportedly damages US Humvee in al-Mawsil Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 7pm Baghdad time Monday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb had exploded by a US patrol in al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of Baghdad, according to reports.

Yaqen reported witnesses as saying that a homemade bomb went off by the side of a road on Monday, disabling a Humvee and killing or wounding an unspecified number of US troops.  Following the explosion, American forces conducted raids and searches over a large area in the ad-Dubbat neighborhood.

Since 10 May the US and its Iraqi regime allies have been waging a security campaign against the al-Qa‘idah organization in al-Mawsil and surrounding Ninwa Province.

Two Iraqi soldiers killed in ambush in western al-Mawsil.

In a dispatch posted at 2:35pm Baghdad time Monday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that armed men attacked a patrol of Iraqi army troops to the west of al-Mawsil on Monday.

Yaqen reported a source in the police as saying that the attack took place in the al-Islah az-Zira‘i area of western al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of Baghdad, and that two of the soldiers were killed in the ambush.

Since 10 May, the US and its Iraqi regime allies have been waging a campaign against the al-Qa‘idah organization in al-Maswil and surrounding Ninwa Province.

Official at Sadr General Hospital arrested in al-‘Amarah Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 7:38pm Baghdad time Monday evening, the Yaqen News Agency reported that Iraqi army troops arrested an official with the Emergency Department of as-Sadr General Hospital in al-‘Amarah, 290km southeast of Baghdad on Monday.

Yaqen reported a source in the al-‘Amarah Health Department as saying that Iraqi army troops and police arrested ‘Abbas Jawad, official of the Emergency Depatment, but gave no further information on the reason for the arrest.

Since March, the US-backed Iraqi regime has been actively engaged in an offensive against the anti-occupation Sadr Movement and its armed wing, the Jaysh al-Mahdi militia, in Iraq, in what is believed to be preparation for an American attack on Iran.

In continued preparations for American attack on Iran, Iraqi regime troops arrest eight anti-occupation Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen in raids, searches in al-Basrah.

In a dispatch posted at 10:30pm Baghdad time Monday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that the Iraqi government police had arrested eight more members of the anti-occupation Jaysh al-Mahdi militia and other pro-Iranian militias in continued sweeps through the southern province of al-Basrah.

Yaqen reported a source in the al-Basrah police as saying that the arrests came in the course of raids in various parts of the province.  Since March, the US-backed Iraqi regime has been actively engaged in an offensive against the anti-occupation Sadr Movement and its armed wing, the Jaysh al-Mahdi militia, in Iraq, in what is believed to be preparation for an American attack on Iran.
