·    Attack on US foot patrol near al-Hadithah reported.

·    Bomb explodes under US column in al-Khalidiyah area Saturday afternoon.

·    In continued preparations for American attack on Iran, Iraqi regime police arrest four anti-occupation Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen in raids, searches in al-Basrah.

Attack on US foot patrol near al-Hadithah reported.

In a dispatch posted at 11:29pm Baghdad time Saturday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that men equipped with light arms attacked a US foot patrol between al-Hadithah, 270km northwest of Baghdad, and the al-Qadisiyah Dam on the Euphrates River near the city.  There were no reports of casualties.

Al-Khalidiyah.

Bomb explodes under US column in al-Khalidiyah area Saturday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 7:48pm Baghdad time Saturday evening, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb went off by a US military patrol in a village near al-Khalidiyah, 80km west of Baghdad), at 2pm local time Saturday afternoon.  No information on casualties, if any, was available.

‘Anah.

Tribal “Awakening” police arrest local residents in ‘Anah, turn them over to US forces.

In a dispatch posted at 10:10am Baghdad time Saturday morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that tribal “Awakening” police launched a campaign of mass raids and arrests of residents of the city of ‘Anah, 300km northwest of Baghdad.

Yaqen reported witnesses as saying that at least 15 people were arrested in the raids.  Following the raids, the “Awakening” police and local security officials turned the captives directly over to the US forces who have secured them on their base in the city prior to transfer to prisons located around the country.

Bomb targets US patrol in Baghdad Saturday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 8:17pm Saturday evening Beijing time (3:17pm in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a bomb went off by a US patrol in the al-Wahdah neighborhood of central Baghdad, after noon on Saturday.

Xinhua reported a source in the Iraqi government police as saying that the bome, which had been planted by the side of a road near the Saj ar-Rif Restaurant, blew up by a passing American patrol, wounding four civilian Iraqi bystanders and damaging buildings in the area.  The source had no information in whether there had been American casualties, since the US troops quickly closed off the area where the attack occurred.

Gunmen attack police checkpoint north of Tikrit Saturday, killing three.

In a dispatch posted at 7pm Baghdad time Saturday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that armed men in a civilian car attacked a customs police checkpoint near the al-Hamrah camp to the north of Tikrit, 180km north of Baghdad, on Saturday.

Bomb wounds three civilians Saturday.

In a dispatch posted at 9:29pm Baghdad time Saturday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that a bomb exploded by a private car on the main road between the Makhmur and al-Qayyarah areas, 60km south of al-Mawsil.

The AMSI reported an Iraqi government army source as saying that the three occupants of the car, one of them a woman, were wounded in that blast.  One of three suffered severe injuries and was taken to a hospital in Irbil for treatment.

Two Iraqi soldiers abducted, shot in al-Mawsil Saturday.

In a dispatch posted at 9:14pm Baghdad time Saturday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that armed men kidnapped two government soldiers in the az-Zanjili area in the west of al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of Baghdad, on Saturday.

The AMSI reported a source in the government police as saying that the two were abducted from the car park in the al-Bursah area as they were on their way to joining up with their unit in the al-Kisk area.  Some distance away, the gunmen spotted a police patrol and promptly shot the soldiers and fled.  One of the soldiers was killed, the other wounded.

Since 10 May, the US and its Iraqi regime allies have been waging an offensive against the al-Qa‘idah organization in al-Mawsil and surrounding Ninwa Province.

Car bomb explodes by checkpoint in al-Mawsil Saturday.

In a dispatch posted at 2:50pm Baghdad time Saturday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a car bomb exploded by a checkpoint in the Cultural Complex area near the al-Ghabat area to the northeast of al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of Baghdad, on Saturday.

Since 10 May, the US and its Iraqi regime allies have been waging an offensive against the al-Qa‘idah organization in al-Mawsil and surrounding Ninwa Province.

Car bomb blows up checkpoint Saturday.

Yaqen reported a source in the police as saying that an explosives-packed gray Malibu car that had been parked near the checkpoint, blew up and destroyed the reinforced checkpoint, damaging one of the police patrol cars.

Since 10 May, the US and its Iraqi regime allies have been waging an offensive against the al-Qa‘idah organization in al-Mawsil and surrounding Ninwa Province.

Sniper kills Iraqi policeman early Saturday.

In a dispatch posted at 2:50pm Baghdad time Saturday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported a local police source as saying that a sniper shot and killed a policeman at a checkpoint in the as-Sarj Khanah area to the west of al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of Baghdad, early Saturday morning.

Since 10 May, the US and its Iraqi regime allies have been waging an offensive against the al-Qa‘idah organization in al-Mawsil and surrounding Ninwa Province.

Bomb targets Iraqi regime police in southern Dhi Qar Province.

In a dispatch posted at 12:50pm Baghdad time Saturday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a patrol of Iraqi government police in the Suq ash-Shuyukh area, 350km southeast of Baghdad.

Yaqen reported a source in the police as saying that the explosion of the bomb, a mortar shell stuffed with explosives and wired to a detonator, caused no losses or damage.  Following the attack, the police made an unspecified number of arrests.

In continued preparations for American attack on Iran, Iraqi regime police arrest four anti-occupation Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen in raids, searches in al-Basrah.

In a dispatch posted at 9:50am Baghdad time Tuesday morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that Iraqi government police arrested four members of the anti-occupation Jaysh al-Mahdi militia in various parts of al-Basrah on Friday evening.

The police also said they had seized two automatic weapons and 95 ammunition clips as well as two RPG-7 rocket-propelled grenade launchers and rockets.

Since March, the US-backed Iraqi regime has been actively engaged in an offensive against the anti-occupation Sadr Movement and its armed wing, the Jaysh al-Mahdi militia, in Iraq, in what is believed to be preparation for an American attack on Iran.
