The Real 'Suicidal' Muslims in America

In the days surrounding the 'anniversary of 9-11', we have been witness to an
appalling display of cowardice and betrayal not only on the part of Arab
leaders internationally, but in the States on the part of a major
Muslim-American organisation, as well as three victims of an unjustifiable
arrest in Georgia. The majority of American-Muslim organisations, in
particular the AMC, as well as the victims of the Georgia farce, Kambiz
Butt, Ayman Gheith and Omar Choudhary are helping to dig the graves of
ALL Muslims and Arabs in the States in their attempts to 'prove' their patriotism.
On 16 September, for example, the news media published a huge photograph
of Kambiz Butt, Ayman Gheith and Omar Choudhary sitting beneath an American
flag with the text: 'I am Muslim / I am American / I vote...' The reason
for the news conference evidently was to declare that none of the students
bears any resentment towards the bigoted, hysterical woman who reported them
to the police, claiming that she overheard them 'discussing terrorist plans'
at a restaurant in Georgia. Not only do they bear no resentment, despite the
fact that they have lost their places at a hospital training programme in
Miami, but they describe her in glowing terms as 'a patriot for America'.
An attorney representing the three maligned students stated that: 'They are
Americans, just like any other American, who are proud to be American, who
want to fulfill the American dream, and who were on the road to doing that
when the American nightmare happened to them.' Well, hello!!!
They are NOT just like any other American. They are Muslim Americans, the
targets of the U.S. alleged 'war on terror', and pandering to bigots and the
enemies of Islam and freedom will not bring them any closer to 'fulfilling
the American dream,', nor will it help other Muslims and Arabs in the U.S.
who have similar aspirations or even the very basic aspiration of staying
out of police custody.
What is wrong with the Muslim-American community? On the one hand, we have
three young Muslim-Americans who are not only forgiving their oppressors,
but praising them. On the other hand, we have an AMC official and the Muslim
community of Buffalo in New York who actively participated on a witch hunt
against five American citizens, and were proud to publicise their roles as
spies against fellow Muslims.
Perhaps these misguided Muslim-Americans should look at the cases of those
who have attempted to pacify and accomodate tyrants and oppressors throughout
history. For example, those who have attempted to make 'reparations' to the
Zionists for alleged damages or losses suffered in the past have not received
any credit for their actions, but have simply been humiliated further. The
Palestinians who call themselves 'citizens' of the Zionist entity should,
after half a century of distrust from the Zionists, understand that they
NEVER will be accepted as ersatz Jews. American Muslims and Arab-Americans
will never be accepted as 'red-blooded Americans' until there is a fundamental
change in the U.S. government or its attitudes. Those among the Muslim-American
and Arab-American communities who betray their own for the sake of achieving
a more secure status in the law enforcement community may find that they are
its next victims.
Encouraging government excesses is NOT the path to security. Neither the
government nor the Zionist interests that manipulate the U.S. government
will be impressed by anything that any Arab-American or Muslim-American
says or does to support the U.S./Zionist causes.
Unfortunately, U.S. Muslim-American and Arab-American organisations and
individuals are doing no more than the cowardly Arab regimes. One by one,
they have buckled to U.S. threats, blackmail and bribes to withdraw any
semblance of support either for beleagured Iraq or for the threatened
Palestinian people.
In actuality, the real 'Suicidal' Muslims and Arabs within the U.S. are
those who betray the cause of justice in order to try to save their own
skins or to try to curry favour with a government that never will trust
or accept them. One must work rather towards changing the government and
its policies, rather than abandoning one's brothers and sisters and
repudiating the cause of justice throughout the world.
It is in unity alone that we can hope for any degree of true security
in the future, for pandering to an enemy or an unjust government will
not win any rewards ultimately. The Arab Nation in diaspora and at home
as well as the Ummah must unite against tyranny and oppression. The Ummah
and Arab Nation cannot be intimidated or blackmailed into cowardly
acquiescance to injustice. By seeking to save their skins or bolster
their security through betrayal, those who seek the favour of the U...S.
and Zionist powers threaten our very existence.
Note: AMC = American Muslim Council. The American Muslim Council (AMC)
and the Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) are the two most
prominent and influential Muslim-American organisations, apart from MSA,
which is basically a student association. Both the AMC and CAIR were
quick to condemn the attacks of 9-11, to emphasise U.S. patriotism, to
define Islam as a religion of 'peace' rather than a religion of peace WITH
justice, and both organisations have condemned human bomb attacks as well
as any other form of practical jihad. In other words, the AMC and CAIR
purport to represent American-Muslims and Islam as a means through which
to gain political power within the American government establishment.
