(Your Voice in a World where Zionism, Steel, and Fire have turned Justice Mute)
Translated from the Arabic by Muhammad Abu Nasr
The following series on Marxism and the Jewish Question comes from a book by Naji Alloush that was first published in Beirut in 1969 in the Arabic language. However, we have relied for the following translation on the [abridged] third edition of the book that appeared in 1980.
Despite the fact that Marxism and the Jewish Question was written long ago at a different political time for a different political audience, we believe it still carries a great deal of significance for these times as well. A tremendous quantity of research and analysis goes into proving to Arab readers that since its inception Marxism has been at odds with Zionism and the Zionist movement; that it has always rejected the contrived concepts of a Jewish nation and Jewish immigration to Palestine; and that Marxism, far from being "a Jewish conspiracy", has been coopted by Zionist influences in the Twentieth Century to justify "Israel" and other Zionist notions. As a result, too many Marxists have ended up taking positions on the Jewish question, Palestine, and Zionism that are essentially un-Marxist.
Today we present this series for English-speaking audiences.
