FAV Editor Ibrahim Alloush Arrested
Demand his Immediate Release!

Dr. Ibrahim Naji Alloush, the Editor-In-Chief of the
Free Arab Voice, and Media Coordinator of the
Association against Zionism and Racism
(AZAR), has been arrested after being summoned
to the Public Security Department in Amman,
Jordan on 24 March 2003.

Dr. Alloush, a professor of economics, is known for
his courageous, honest, and openly frank stands on
developments in Jordan and the brutal aggression being
committed against our whole Arab Nation.

His arrest comes as the Jordanian regime faces growing
popular opposition to its hosting of American
aggressor forces and its permission to American planes
to overfly the kingdom with their genocidal cargoes of
death on their way to our brothers i n Iraq.

As the Iraqi army and people heroically resist and
manage to inflict heavy losses to the imperialist
aggressor, the Arab regimes that have
colluded with the aggressor and betrayed our
brothers in Iraq and the entire Arab nation are
trembling for their future. They understand full
well that the victory of Iraq will signal their
end. As if to hasten this end, they cooperate
further with the enemy, and follow their instructions to
harass those active in support of Iraq and Palestine
inside the country. This is the framework within which
the arrest of Dr. Alloush and dozens of other activists
took place.

Futile are these attempts to cover up connivance with
imperialist-Zionist aggression by arresting those who
simply recognize reality for what it is.

We in the editorial board of the Free Arab Voice
declare that the arrest of Dr. Alloush, far from silencing
us, will prompt us to continue our work with more fervour.
By arresting Dr. Alloush, the Jordanian security services
are testifying to the correctness of our positions.

Raise your voices for the release of Dr. Alloush and
for all the anti-imperialists and anti-Zionists being
held across the Arab world.
